Published by Horace Cox, Windsor House, Bream’s Buildings E.C. London these early handbooks are becoming almost impossible to find now. This, the 1911 edition was the twenty third to be published. Containing many fascinating early advertisements this little book is full of facts and figures. The L.T.A. officials are listed as are the tournament dates for the year both in Great Britain and Europe. Opposite the start of the rule pages is little seen photograph of Anthony Wilding and his doubles partner Major Ritchie. Wilding was of course from New Zealand, Ritchie was British (Major was his name – not a military title). They were World Champions at this point in doubles, Wilding also in singles. Following many pages of regulations, information regarding the Davis Cup competition from 1900 to 1910 is shown in detail. All clubs with L.T.A. affiliation are shown with the secretaries addresses listed.
Condition – very good throughout. Boards and spine – complete. Pages complete, tight, and bright.
