As it states prize it may indeed of had a functional use as a sugar bowl or the like. The bowl has a clear set of marks for Birmingham 1925 and the lid bears the same date letter. The makers S & M – Sanders & Mackenzie operated in Birmingham during this period.
R. B. S. C. is hard to decipher – The Royal Bangkok Sports Club was in it’s seventh year at this point. An expensive trophy in its day.
This silver trophy stands 9.5cms high and 8.5cms across at the widest point. The three supporting measure 6.5cms each and the smaller racket to the lid 4.25cms. This trophy would have been expensive to produce and shows exceptional detail. The lid fits perfectly and as a result snug. The condition is excellent/mint with no indentations.
