Victorian Silver Button Hook 1890
A very unusual silver item in the form of an early racket with a hook protruding from the handle. This sewing aid has detail to the handle, a wire throat piece running into a convex wedge. The head is small and has a ring for attachment. This the first button hook in racket form I have ever seen. This item measures 5.5cms in length and is in good condition. This a minor indentation at the bottom of the handle on one side.
