Silver Tennis Broach in the form of a Net, Crossed Rackets, and Ball 1880

A fabulous tennis broach with a date diamond registration 11th September 1880. The tennis poles have finials, supporting a diagonally strung net, the edge of which has a silver cord. The rackets are of the period – small heads, convex wedges, and diagonal stringing. The throat pieces have whipping. The ball sits centrally where the rackets cross over. This item measures 4 x 3cms and is in excellent condition. A truly wonderfully crafted broach in fine detail.
