Wonderful early Christmas card showing a mixed four in play. The net and rackets are diagonally strung, and the dress is of the period. The older gentleman is comically having his hat knocked off by a player’s racket! This single sided card has verse to the reverse – Wishing you a happy Christmas. Lawn Tennis now is over, No more the ball flies high, While many a lass and lover, Exchange a smile or sigh, Now Christmas dear to maids and men, Finds sport for lovers all, Enjoy the happy time, as when You struck the tennis – ball!
